Agra Again: Qureshi kills Peace talks

 Delhi rolls  back the VAT hike
The just-concluded Indo-Pak dialogue and resultant acrimony continues to dominate the front pages of dailies. "Qureshi throws courtesy out of the window....", headline the Indian Express.
"Heated talks set Chill", headlines the Hindustan Times, adding that Pakistan's attempt at 'ambush diplomacy' during the Foreign Minister's visit to Islamabad, led to failure of the meeting. "Agra Again: Qureshi kills Peace talks", writes the Times of India.

The Indian Express informs us that a proposal by the Rural Development Ministry to double the minimum number of work-days guaranteed under the NREGA - from 100 to 200  in a year for below poverty-line people, as also to link the wage rate with annual inflation, has been turned down by the Finance Ministry. A Finance Ministry official said it would be difficult to mobilise the additional resources required for this expansion.

The new rupee symbol begins to appear in the headlines! Utilizing the brand new sign the Times of India writes " Diesel to cost "    " 2.50 per litre less. Giving in to dealers, Delhi rolls  back the VAT hike". The Financial Express, however, writes that mass usage of the rupee symbol will take anywhere from 4 to 5 years.
